As I wrote about the serving techniques in my previous blog, a few want me to write the rules to play.

so today i am going to write about the rules that will help you in matches.

Basic rules !

Basically the first thing to do is serve.

so you should know that you can only  do cross serve in a matches.

• If the shuttle drops in a forecourt, its a short serve, i.e fault !
• Racket of the server must placed below to his/her waist.
• Double touch to shuttle by a common team is a fault.
• servers feet should not cross any line. 

Singles:-

• You can serve till the base line,as clearly shown in fig. below.
• But serve should be in the main block, you can't use sideline.

Doubles:-

• You have to serve in the main block, till the service line.
• If you miss the shuttle while serving, its a fault.

Scoring:-

Score Board

• Points are always added to the winning side.
• Game consists 21 points.
• At 21 all, the team gains 2 points first wins the match.

Tricks to serve.

Hopefully Badminton is a very famous and tricky sport to play, therefore i am here to help you all in this .

As i am a "state badminton player" , and i would love to share my experience and tricks !

firstly , lets talk about some serve tricks because serve is the beginning of the game !

SERVE :- Way to make project the shuttle.

IN SINGLES :- In singles its better to serve high and at the back court because this gives you enough time to cover the whole court according to your serve.

Back court high serve

 This is the best place to flick your shuttle that makes the opponent to                                  stretch  himself/herself and this will surely give you the advantage in singles .

As we all know , according to the rules the 3rd line is not a fault in singles ! Then use this to the maximum.

IN DOUBLES :- In doubles its good to make a low and short serve . 

• Very near to the edge of  first line and the middle line.
• Between the side line of singles and doubles , as clarified in diagram below ! 
• Very near to the edge of  second line and the middle line. 

Three best spots to serve

These spots will definitely helps you in doubles matches to coordinate with your team mate . But always remember to focus properly on opponents game and your partner's game play .
